When I was 12 years old, my life completely revolved around video games. It was 1991, so there was no such thing as Playstation or Xbox. There were a few consoles on the market, but the primary console war was between Nintendo and Sega. Sega usually won out on the graphics department, but Nintendo (in my opinion) usually won out on the character and gameplay department. But that isn’t really what this Tumblr is about. This Tumblr is being made to show the world how one company helped pave the way for my career and how their exceptional customer service cemented me as a lifelong fan.
This will be a short Tumblr. It will show you a video game concept that my friend and I conceptualized at a very young age and mailed (original art, not photocopies) to Nintendo. Make no mistake, the artwork and story is basically miserable. In fact, most of it is plagiarized from Nintendo’s own magazine, Nintendo Power. But the art itself is not what this is about either. It’s simply being shown to illustrate how one company did everything right to make this young artist never stop trying.
